The Kyrie Eleison (Greek for “Lord, have mercy”) is a very powerful part of the Liturgy, often sung by the priest and people. The Kyrie Eleison is at the center of the penitential rite when we ask God to forgive us our sins before approaching the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
