Saint John Paul II spent much of his life encouraging Catholics, especially young people, not to be afraid of giving themselves completely to Christ. His words, “Do not be afraid to be saints,” remind us that holiness is not something meant for a select few. The Church is filled with saints who were parents, priests, religious, workers, converts, martyrs, teachers, and ordinary people who learned to follow God faithfully in the circumstances of their own lives.
This design makes that message visible by forming the word SAINT from the names of saints throughout the Church. Their lives looked remarkably different, but each answered the same call. Their example reminds us that becoming a saint does not mean becoming someone else. It means becoming the person God created you to be and allowing Christ to work through your real, ordinary life.
Do not be afraid to be a saint.
